Rome is one of the easiest cities to eat kosher in without planning every meal: the Jewish Ghetto, home of the Great Synagogue, is full of kosher places a short walk from one another, and there are good spots outside it too. Here are four of the 16 kosher places we list, each with its address, kind of food and supervision as shown in our listing. A tip before you go: most places are closed on Shabbat and hours change with the season, so check opening times and book a table ahead on weekends and holidays.

Pasticceria Boccione

A veteran Roman-Jewish bakery, open since 1815 and run by the Limentani family, famous for its "Jewish pizza" (a fruit-and-nut cake) and ricotta-cherry tart. Closed on Saturday. Note: the shop right next door, a separate and unrelated business, also sells non-kosher products, so confirm the current supervision with the Rome Jewish Community.
