About BooKasher
BooKasher grew out of personal experience. We are Shabbat- and kashrut-observant travelers, and we know the planning that precedes every trip: hunting for a kosher restaurant at the destination, working out whether there's a minyan nearby, and puzzling over exactly when Shabbat comes in an unfamiliar city. The information existed - but scattered across dozens of places, in different languages, and not always current.
Our dream was simple: one place that brings it all together. A site where you can open a destination and see straight away what's there - kosher restaurants, synagogues and Chabad houses, mikvehs, hotels and apartments, candle-lighting and havdalah times, and attractions you can actually get to. In every destination in the world where a kosher- and Shabbat-observant traveler has something to rely on.

I'm Yair, from Israel. I love travelling, and I don't skip the local food - at the restaurants of the Jewish community.
I keep Shabbat, so I know the hunt for a kosher or Shabbat-friendly hotel: staff who get what we need, close to a Chabad house or a synagogue - a minyan, a hot meal, and a calm Shabbat without the headache.
The site is free. If you're already booking a hotel, a car or tickets - through the links here it costs you the same, and that's what lets us keep the lists current.
Reliable information
Every entry on the site is checked - kashrut, address and location. Shabbat and holiday times are fetched live rather than stored in advance, and when a value isn't available we show "unavailable" rather than a time that might be wrong.
Worldwide
We expand destination by destination, anywhere there's a community, a minyan or kosher food. If your destination isn't on the site yet - tell us, and we'll be glad to add it.

Your responsibility to verify
The Site operates according to halacha, and we make every effort to verify the information it presents. Shabbat and holiday times are fetched live from a recognised external times service (Hebcal), and an automated system checks them weekly - including confirming that the times really do refer to the upcoming Shabbat and not one that has already passed.
Even so, and in order to prevent a michshol, the final responsibility rests with each individual:
Kashrut certification
Confirm on site that the certificate is valid and under the supervision you rely on. A business's kosher status can change at any time, sometimes without notice.
Shabbat and holiday times
Verify times against a local calendar or the community rabbi on site, especially at high-latitude destinations and around clock changes.
Synagogues, mikvehs and minyanim
Opening hours and arrangements change; arranging ahead is recommended.
We welcome every report of an inaccuracy - it's what makes the site better for everyone.
