Inside it, Le Chandelier (4.5) is a meat Moroccan restaurant under glatt lamehadrin supervision of the Casablanca Beth Din, with half-board and Shabbat options - book the meals ahead.

Two more restaurants: Cercle de l'Union and AROMA

Cercle de l'Union (4.6) is the old community restaurant downtown - tagine, couscous and Moroccan-Jewish cooking, under the Casablanca Beth Din. It has no clear street sign - ring the bell. AROMA Kosher Food & Bakery (4.4) is dairy, Cholov Yisrael - bakery, pizza and sushi on some days, good for a dairy lunch after a meat evening.

The synagogue and Chabad

Temple Beth-El (4.7), Moroccan Sephardi rite, is the community's main synagogue, not far from Cercle de l'Union - get in touch before coming to daven. Chabad Morocco (4.6) keeps a current restaurant list and arranges Shabbat meals - write before the trip, especially if you are not staying at Palace d'Anfa.

The Hassan II Mosque (4.7), on the seafront, is the city's big attraction - a paid guided tour, worth booking ahead. No kosher food there, so eat at Le Chandelier or Cercle de l'Union before or after the visit.
