Kosher in Romania: supermarkets, restaurants and shuls
What to buy in a Romanian supermarket, where to eat out, and where to pray - for a few days in Bucharest or on the road.
Kosher products in Romanian supermarkets
Many travellers cook in the apartment or buy for a picnic. Kosher Kan is a free guide to kosher products on the shelves of Romanian supermarkets, with the hechsher shown on each pack. You can search by product name, by store chain or by certifying body, and each product is marked dairy or meat. It works in Hebrew, Russian and English.
Open Kosher KanKosher Kan is an independent site, not run by BooKasher. Check the certification on the pack itself, and ask the local community when in doubt.
Kosher restaurants
Bucharest has kosher restaurants including Bereshit and Zadok Bsarim. Opening days and supervision change, so check before Shabbat.
