The most famous address in the Chassidic Jewish world - the building was acquired in 1940 and has served since as the world headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. It is also a functioning Orthodox synagogue, with a men's section on the ground floor and a women's section above, and the movement's central hall for farbrengens (gatherings). Thousands of visitors from around the world pass through it every year.
