About this place

Greece's oldest surviving synagogue, completed in 1577 in the 'La Juderia' Jewish quarter of the Old Town - the only one of the quarter's four synagogues to survive. A Sephardic building with two Torah arks and a black-and-white mosaic floor; since 1977 the complex has housed the Jewish Museum of Rhodes, commemorating the community deported to Auschwitz in 1944.
