Our guide
Alfama recalls the Jewish past; community life today runs through Chabad in Cascais and Genesis / the addresses listed in town. The kosher offering has grown but is still short: book for the weekend. Cascais is also a beach town, not just a synagogue. Walk Alfama in the morning. Tram 28 is packed: walk, or take an Uber for the hills.
Stay in the kosher area of Lisbon
Lisbon does not have one obvious Jewish quarter. Rohr Chabad Portugal - Avner Cohen Casa Chabad (Chabad house listed on the site) is the anchor - book a hotel within walking distance of it rather than picking a random part of Lisbon.
