About this place

The burial site of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, and his father-in-law Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn, in Queens. An estimated one million visitors come to the Ohel each year, making it likely the most-visited religious site in Judaism outside Israel. It is about 8 miles from Crown Heights (a car or cab ride is needed). It's customary to write a short prayer note ("kvitel") and leave it by the graves; the site is open 24 hours a day, six days a week (closed on Shabbat).
