Au Falafel: two branches
Au Falafel Lulli (rated 4.4), by the Opera and the Vieux-Port, is the address most visitors know - falafel, shawarma and sandwiches, Marseille Beth Din. A second branch, Au Falafel Prado (4.3), sits in the south of the city, same supervision - useful if you sleep there and don't want to go back to the Opera. Both close on Shabbat and evenings are worth booking.

The Grande Synagogue de Marseille (rated 4.6), Sephardi / Consistoire, from 1864, stands on Rue Breteuil - visits usually need an appointment, and for davening call the Consistoire ahead. Beth Chabad Centre Ville (4.7), on Rue Saint-Suffren, near the synagogue, offers a minyan, kashrut questions and Shabbat meals by arrangement - not a public restaurant.

For Shabbat, sleep in the 1st or 6th arrondissement, for a walk to the Opera and the synagogue.
