A few tips for Pesach abroad
- Want a seder at Chabad or a hotel near shul? Book early - places go fast over Pesach.
- Outside Israel this year the second day of yom tov falls on Friday, so an eruv tavshilin is made on Erev Pesach, April 21.
- An apartment with a kitchen lets you cook for Pesach yourself. Find out in advance what's needed to kasher it, or bring disposables.
- Shmurah matzah and special products aren't always easy to find abroad - ask the Chabad house or a kosher shop ahead of time.
- Leaving home before Pesach? You can sell your chametz through a rabbi before you travel.
- Booking flights? Make sure they don't fall on yom tov or Shabbat.
Prefer a Pesach program at a hotel?
Some prefer a hotel that's fully kosher for Passover, with sedarim, services and a kids' program. We've put together what to check before you choose one.
